Bourbon Heritage Center
Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc.
This Visitors Center for the largest family-owned distillery in America has been planned to be the foundation for all public relations activities and to enhance the visitor’s tour experience.
Interpretation of Heaven Hill’s unique history, the development of the Bourbon industry in Kentucky and the contributions of the Shapira, Beam and Homel families are the central themes of the Visitors Center.
A significant challenge was the explanation of the distilling process to visitors, as there has been no distillery on the grounds since the disastrous 1996 fire which consumed it.
Contained within the Visitors Center are reception areas, exhibit hall, orientation theater, gift shop, replica bar, public rest rooms, offices and multipurpose conference room with catering kitchen.
The surrounding landscape has been developed to provide parking for 100 cars, themed gardens and tour bus embarkation area.
The Visitors Center is the focus of facility tours which now include the “Y” Barrel Rickhouse and Heaven Hill’s vast bottling and distribution warehouse operations.
